Job Description: Belt School has a Full-Time K-12 Music Education opening for the 2026-27 school year. Additional stipends for Instrumental Music Advisor and Vocal Music Advisor are available with the position.

Salary:  DOE. 2026-2027 base salary is $42,856 and experienced teachers are placed on the salary matrix based on education and years of experience.

Benefits: The district will contribute $863 per month towards district insurance or $750 per month to a tax-sheltered annuity to FTE not enrolled in the district health insurance plan.

Music Teacher Opening 2026-2027
Through a generous partnership between the Strand Foundation and the Belt Public Schools Education Foundation, the majority of classroom school supplies will be provided for all Belt Public Schools students during the 2026-2027 school year. Students will need to provide a backpack, non-marking gym shoes, and the items included on the Classroom Supply List for their grade level. The Belt School Summer Science Camp is officially halfway through its four-week run of free Wednesday sessions. The program launched with rocket building and Mentos geysers on May 27th, followed by this week's Splash Science water balloon launcher competitions. The camp returns on June 24th for a Solar Power Party featuring solar-car races and solar-oven S'mores, and concludes on July 1st with Wind & Wonders, where participants will build 3-foot wind turbines, koi windsocks, gliders, and giant bubbles.

Science Camp
Congratulations to our track and field athletes on an incredible performance at the State Track Meet in Laurel last weekend.

The Girls Team earned 2nd Place overall in the state, led by state championship titles from Vannie Urick in the 400m, the Girls 4 x 100 Relay (Ashton Pasha, Olivia Knudsen, Destinee Goodman, Vannie Urick), and the Girls 4 x 400 Relay (Morgan Heitzman, Sidney Paulson, McKenzie Pogany, Vannie Urick).

Other top state finishes include the Boys 4 x 400 Relay in 2nd Place (Tucker LaPlaunt, Slater Lords, Emmitt Anderson, Greyson Garza) and the Boys 4 x 100 Relay in 3rd Place (Tucker LaPlaunt, Blake Waldner, Emmitt Anderson, Dawson Cook).

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of our entire team and coaching staff. Way to go Huskies !

Applications for a vacant Belt School Board of Trustees seat (1-year term) previously held by Kyle Gillespie, are available at the school office. If you are interested in applying please pick up an application. Completed applications are due to the Belt School office by Friday, May 22, at noon. Applicants must provide a complete application with voter registration information & a letter of interest. Selected applicants will be interviewed during a regular or special board of trustees’ meeting. The Belt Board of Trustees chooses the individual to fill the vacant seat. The appointee will serve until the regular school election, and the successor has qualified (May 2027).
