Good luck to our Huskies as the District 8-C Tournament starts today at Great Falls High. The girls will face Hobson-Moore at 7:30pm on Wednesday. The boys will take on Highwood at 6:00pm on Thursday. The second John P. Visocan Scholarship Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, March 2, after middle school basketball games. All proceeds benefit the Vocational and Agricultural Scholarship Fund. Come join the fun! Contact the school for more information. Sponsored by National Honor Society.

Congratulations to Rowan Flaten (6th Grade) and JJ Hoffmann (8th Grade) for finishing First and Second at this year's 4th - 8th Grade Geography B.

Over the weekend the state DECA conference was held in Missoula, MT where 538 high school students came to compete in various events. There were multiple students from Belt to make it to the final rounds of competition in their respective events, but we had three stand out students receive some of the highest awards. Regan Jassen in Principles of Finance, becoming a state champion. As well as Emerson Hoerner and Parker Osterman earning a first place medal in their Financial Literacy Project. Mrs. Mavrinac would like to give Clayton Jassen a shout out for placing 7th out of 538 students in the core business test.

Congrats to Reagan Jassen, Kate Hedstrom, and Vannie Urick who came home with top places at last weekend's FFA Leadership Development Event.

There is a boys' C-squad game Monday night (Feb 5) at 6:00pm in Belt versus the Gt Falls Home School. There will be boys' and girls' JV games on Tuesday night (Feb 6) in Belt versus Cascade starting at 6:00pm.

Friday night the Huskies will host DGSG with game times at GJV 3:00/BJV 4:30/GV 6:00/BV 7:30. The 2024 Hall of Fame inductions will take place between the varsity games. Saturday the Huskies host TCT with game times at BJV 3:30/GV 5:00/BV 6:30. The Free Throw Calcutta fundraiser will take place following the games Saturday night.

The middle school students will head to Showdown on Wednesday, Jan 31, for a day of skiing. Please remember to dress in layers, wear sunscreen, and pack a lunch or bring $10 for lunch at the lodge.

As we move into the final weeks of the basketball season we have a busy week of games. Boys' and girls' C squads travel to Ft Benton Monday night, game time are G “C” 5:00/B “C” 6:30. Tuesday the boys travel to Highwood, game times BJV 4:30/BV 6:00. Thursday the girls travel to Simms, game times GJV 5:00/GV 6:30. Friday DGSG travels to Belt, game times GJV 3:00/BJV 4:30/GV 6:00/BV 7:30. Saturday Hobson-Moore travels to Belt, game times BJV 3:30/GV 5:00/BV 6:30. There will also be a FT Calcutta fundraiser following the home games on Saturday. We hope to see everyone out supporting our Huskies!

The Belt Husky Free Throw Calcutta will held on Saturday, February 3rd, following the home games versus the TCT Titans. Proceeds will go to the boys' and girls' basketball teams. The free throw teams will be auctioned off (silent auction) during the high school basketball games. Game times are BJV 3:30/GV 5:00/BV 6:30.

UPDATE: Friday the HS basketball teams travel to Grass Range with game times as follows: BJV 4:30/GV 6:00/BV 7:30. There is no JV girls game today.

The Husky basketball teams travel to Fairfield Thursday to take on the Eagles, game times are GJV 4:00/BJV 4:00/GV 5:30/BV 7:00. On Friday the teams travel to Grass Range with game times at 1/2GJV 3:30/BJV 4:30/GV6:00/BV 7:30. And Saturday the Huskies will host Roy-Winifred with game times 1/2GJV 2:30/BJV 3:30/GV 5:00/BV 6:30. Please note that the girls JV are 1/2 games on Friday and Saturday. Good luck Huskies!

Huskies C-squad basketball games will be played at Fergus High in Lewistown today, Monday, January 22. Game times are girls ”C” 4:30pm and boys “C” 6:00pm. Good luck Huskies!

Buy a new Husky Hat and win a chance at $500.00! Everyone who purchases one of these unique emblazoned hats will be entered in the drawing that will take place at the 2024 Belt Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Free Throw Calcutta on February 3rd. Hats will be available for purchase at the ticket gate during upcoming home basketball contests and the proceeds will go to the Belt Booster Club.

We are aware that threatening messages were sent to numerous school districts, including staff and trustees of school districts in Montana on Tuesday evening. We are not aware of any Belt School staff, admin, or trustees that received this message. These messages were not targeted at Belt School or specific districts, however we are in communication with our partners in law enforcement. After discussions with law enforcement and searches of the facilities, this threat is not believed to be credible and Belt School plans to continue with our regular school schedule at this time. Should there be any changes we will post them to our website and social media. You may notice an increased law enforcement presence at the schools as they continue to work and monitor the situation.

Middle School ski trip is tomorrow, 1/17/2024. Please bring a coat, hat, gloves, sunscreen, and water bottle. Also bring a lunch unless you plan on purchasing lunch at Showdown. Looks like it will be a great day for skiing!

The Belt Huskies will host C-squad basketball games tonight, 1/16/24, versus the Fairfield Eagles. Game times are 4:30pm and 6:00pm. Good luck Huskies!

Buses are planning to run and Belt School will be in session tomorrow, Monday 1/15/2024. We are still having some mechanical issues with the heating system and are working to get those issues resolved. The building does have heat but will not be as warm as usual and some spaces may still be chilly. Please have students dress appropriately, no shorts, no sandals, wear a sweatshirt, etc. If there are any changes we will post them on the school social media and send out a School Messenger to families. We apologize for any inconveniences and hope to have things back to normal this week.
