On Monday, April 26th, the Belt School will transition from a required to a recommended policy on mask wearing. We strongly encourage everyone to continue following measures such as washing and sanitizing hands, disinfecting surfaces, respiratory etiquette, staying home if you are sick, and being aware of your physical distance when around others. Mask wearing is recommended by the school, however it will be the choice of each individual to decide if they need to mask up. We ask that everyone respect the choices that those around them make. Any harassment in regards to these choices will not be tolerated. If you have any questions please contact the school office.

As many of you are aware on Wednesday March 17th the Cascade County Health Department lifted the county mask mandate. Until all of our school staff who wish to be vaccinated have had a reasonable opportunity to complete the vaccination cycle, the district will maintain our current policies regarding masks while on campus. With vaccines becoming increasingly more available to our staff, we are anticipating an amendment from “require to recommend” towards the latter part of April.

This year we are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Prom Dress Swap. Community members and students are invited to bring prom dresses from previous years to have a second chance of being worn again. All Belt High Girls will have the opportunity to participate in the swap and could walk out with a fantastic dress for the cost of dry – cleaning. It is our goal to provide an affordable alternative for our students to attend prom on March 20th. On March 3rd and 4th during Husky Time, students will have an opportunity to view the dress selection in the teacher’s work room! Thank you for all those who are willing to lend gowns to make this event happen.

With the rescinding of the mask mandate today by Governor Gianforte, we are working through how this will impact our school and student events. Cascade City-County Health Department has a meeting scheduled for February 17th with local mask requirements as an item on the agenda. We are still operating under our Reopening Health and Safety Plan which does require masks in school and at school sponsored events. We will continue under this plan as we receive further clarification and guidance from the Governor, Cascade City-County Health and the CDC. Our main objective at this time is to keep in-person-learning in place and to keep staff and students healthy. We will keep you posted on any changes to our Health and Safety Reopening Plan. Thank you and have a great weekend, stay warm!!

Each Belt team will be allowed a limited number of fans to attend the district basketball games at Fergus County High School in Lewistown on February 17-20. You must have a fan pass in order to purchase an admission ticket for entrance to the game. All admission tickets for games must be purchased at the gate. You must contact the Belt School office or come in person to get on the Girls’ and/or Boys’ fan list and get a fan pass. The fan pass is not admission to the games, it only allows you to purchase a ticket at the gate for that specific team’s games. You will need to present your pass and pay admission to each game you attend. If you want to sign up for a pass please stop or call the school office. There will be a table set up at the home game this Saturday, February 13, where you also can sign up for a pass. .
